Summary of Page:It doesn't matter how or why you happen to be out of work the fact is you need to start conserving the money that you have. You need to start NOW! You'll need to find exceptional values for your money. The sites on this page will give you that extra value. For example you can save a TRUE 30 to 40% on your groceries by shopping at two local stores that I suggest. ( I am referring you to these stores because we shop at these stores ourselves.) I don't want to be negative .... but we don't know how long you will be out of work. As you will see unemployment benefits and other assistance programs like WIC (if you have small children) just won't be enough income in most cases. You will still need to buy many of the basics like.... Food, Gas and Clothing. That's where these links can help. The links below will provide you with ways to save on food, gasoline and just about everything else. After you check out these links and start using their products and services you may not go back to your old stores even after you get that new dream job. |

Save money on Gas |

| Save on
Gas, There are a couple of
ideas to save on gasoline. The first is if you live near a wholesale club
(Described down further on this page) Like Bj's or Sam's club you can in
many cases buy gas for 10 to 15 cents cheaper per gallon. Check your local
clubs to see if they have a Wholesale gas station or if they plan on
opening one soon. Do you live near an Indian Reservation? Many
reservations sell gas to people out side of the reservation. Because the
don't have to pay any taxes they sell the gas with no tax. That can save
you 25 cents or more per gallon. AAA Credit Card, A good friend told me about this one. AAA is a club of over 42 million motorists and travelers and one thing that I learned by visiting there site is 42 million of anything will give you some clout ;o) anyway if you have a triple A Visa credit card any purchases you make at the pump will receive a 5% rebate. If you use this program be sure to pay the credit card off quickly each month or you defeat the purpose of using your card. They also have other member discounts but they were to numerous to list here. If you are interested give them a click but BEWARE of the slow loading time if you use dial up and they kill you with POP-UP advertisements. This next idea is called Gas Buddy and it is basically a service where folks on the Net share with each other the gas prices locally around the country. So you will be able to find the cheapest gas price in your neighborhood. They also have some incentives if you are willing to help out with the program. This isn't in every location around the country yet but it's a great idea that will keep growing. Save $ on Gas Back to Top |

Save money on Computer stuff |

| The single largest expense for most
computer users is their ISP "Internet Service Provider"
you can easily spend $300.00 plus per year for an internet provider. I
have used most of them and their is no reason to continue to pay $20 to
$25 a month for a dial up internet provider like AOL and many others. If
you need to cut expenses you should give one of these providers a try.
Both are very good, easy to use and are less than $10.00 per month. Stop
wasting your money and give one a try. You can always return to your
high priced provider if you want to. Both of these providers also have a
free version that you might want to try out. I just don't like all of
the advertising banners and pop up windows in the free versions, they
really seem to slow things down. Start saving money now with NetZero Platinum
or Juno Platinum
BEWARE OF PRINTER INK SALES SCAMS The second largest expense for most computer users is the ink for their printers. Let's face it, printer ink is big business today. Companies almost give away printers because they know once you buy their printer you will have to use their ink supplies.... that's where they make the BIG money. There are a lot of companies on the internet today that sell ink and laser cartridges for printers. If you surf the net at all I'm sure that you have had POP up after POP up window trying to sell you ink cartridges. The problem is... how do you know the good from the bad vendors? I have several friends and myself that have got what we thought was a great deal on ink just to find out the product either didn't work at all or it was super poor quality. One company's ink gummed up my print head so badly that I needed to buy a new one. The cost of that new print head was $90.00 so I just bought a new printer. I never heard a word back from the company and neither me or my friends have ever gotten any money back or even a credit from these companies. Here are two reputable dealers that I have used. I have a Cannon Printer and can get one of the print color cartridges at Wal-Mart for $11.00. Online when I order I can get the same thing for $3.99 so the cost savings is huge. These are remanufactured cartridges and I was skeptical at first if they would work as well as the original ink cartridges but I have used these two suppliers for three years now without a problem. The first wholesaler link is 4inkjets! Discount Printer Supplies. This next wholesaler claims to have sold over a million ink cartridges a year on the internet for the past five years. The products are excellent, I use them myself. I think the company name is a little hokey "Mr. Ink Man" :o) but you will save from 50% to 75% off discount store prices. That's a really big savings so it pays to plan ahead a little and order direct from these warehouse distributors. Click Here For Mr Ink Man Tiger Direct My findings and suggestions wouldn't be complete with out telling you about one of my favorite places on the web. If you have a computer or need computer related gear then you have to visit Tiger Direct. Myself and many of my friends are extremely happy with the things that we have purchased from Tiger Direct . First of all they have been around a while. Tiger Direct has been in business since 1987 ( long before it was fashionable to have a web site ) There web site has been ranked among the New York Times' "Top 25 Online Retailers" in 2002. They not only have great prices on computers. They also carry a vast inventory of components: motherboards, processors, hard drives, optical drives, cases and more. You'll find emerging technologies as well. If you have any computer related needs I have no doubt that you will save $$$ at Tiger Direct and be very satisfied. Tiger Direct Back to Top |

| Big Lots is a discount store
that deals in purchasing left over stock of manufactures and the inventory of stores that
have gone out of business and discontinued stock from manufactures.
They in turn resell these items to consumers for pennies on the
dollar. They
also have a base line of products ( toothpaste, soaps, aspirin etc: )that are usually available. You can get
some great deals here but if you find something you like you may not find it again
when you go back to the store because the stock on that particular product
may be gone forever. Oh! One other thing they have inexpensive furniture.

Save money with Wholesale clubs |
||||
| BJ's
is a Wholesale club. You pay a membership fee annually
that can range from $35.00 to over $100.00 depending on the type of
membership benefits that you want. WARNING! with any of the listed wholesale
clubs know your prices before you go into shop. If your smart take a
calculator to the store with you. You can save money at wholesale clubs if you
shop wisely but in most cases you have to buy very large quantities of a
product and the price seems to be a good deal. These clubs make millions
of dollars from the impulse buying of shoppers who are confused about what
looks like a good deal. Many times you could have bought the same item
some where else for the same price or less. You can save
money using these clubs but you have to know your prices and stick to your
list. Go
to BJs and find a club near you
Costco Is another good Wholesale club and I would give you the same advice here as I did for BJ's Find a Costco Wholesale club Near you Sam's Club Is another Wholesale club that was started by Wal-Mart. I would give you the same advice here as the other two clubs above but if you currently use AAA auto club and have several drivers in your family it can be very costly to have all of the drivers covered. Sam's club offers a premium membership that has an Auto club included in the price and it covers all driving members of your household. It cost about $110.00 plus you get many other benefits besides the auto club. This can be a significant savings if you have more than two drivers in the family. The club members that I have spoken with are also very satisfied with the Auto service. Find a Sam's club Near you |
