The first thing that you should do is read this page in it's entirety there is some critical information that you need to know. I put a link to your states unemployment office at the bottom of this page so you'll be able to jump there quickly when the time comes. ( don't procrastinate, I'll explain why as you read further ) you will need to see if you qualify for your unemployment benefits. Don’t be proud and don’t deceive yourself into thinking that you’ll have a job in a week or two. If you do that’s great but I always say plan for the worst and hope the best. Remember you have been paying into the unemployment system just for such a rainy day as this. You have as much right to collect benefits as anyone else.
It might take two or three weeks or longer to collect a check, so the sooner you file, the faster you'll get a check.
If you are unemployed I have to let you in on a little
secret that most unemployed people never think about. It is called
Government Grants.
When most people think about grants they think that they are for "other people"
and that they wouldn't qualify. This is so totally wrong.
The fact is, even if your unemployed you can get money to pay off some debts or
you can get money to go back to college to attain new career skills. There is
money available to pay medical bills and even money for personal needs. Even
with all the debt that our government has these programs are still available.
Just to give you a quick example. Right now in 2009 there are government
programs in place to help people affected by the poor economy from loosing their
homes. This has been in the news papers and on TV and the radio and still many
people don't take the helping hand that the government is offering.

Donaldson and even G.W.Bush have gotten grants.
I'm trying to tell you these are for the average person too. It happens every
day. Many people are familiar with the PAL grant for collage tuition. These

Yes, I fully understand the situation your in. Because as I have been in your shoes before. Sometimes you are stretched really tight on your budget you need to borrow some cash to make ends meet. Try to borrow from relatives or friends first. If that doesn't work and a three week unemployment waiting period will put you in a bind, here is a couple of good places to get a quick loan.
