If you are a member of a credit union, it can be deposited there as well. No fees are charged for this service and your bank can be anywhere as long as you submit your routing number and account number to the issuing office.

A program started in October 2007 that puts the unemployment payment on a U.S. Bank Visa card. If you do not want your unemployment this way, you must let them know the preferred way to send your money.

Most people prefer their unemployment insurance to be either deposited in their bank account or transferred to the bankcard. This cuts down on the trips to the bank to cash your check. No more waiting for the check to get to you. Direct deposit and the bankcard will automatically have the money put on and most likely will be available to you quicker.

When you know that you have an income to count on while you are unemployed, it helps ease the worries that you will have while searching for another job. Oregon unemployment benefits are lifesavers for many families when they find themselves unemployed.
